Growing up with a single mother has consistently reinforced my acute awareness of the unparalleled and often unacknowledged abilities of women. As I pursued higher education and came to understand the national implications of the gender divide, I also discovered public storytelling as a powerful avenue for rewriting these narratives, creating a space for female voices, and facilitating social change.

After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of the Arts in Communication and Minor in Professional Writing, I hope to channel my passion for writing, entertainment, and social advocacy into a career at a mission-driven media company, specifically one focused on elevating female perspectives.
As a Production and Event Coordinator at the Pollock Theater for almost three years, I’ve been able to start practicing the type of advocation I hope to pursue after graduation. This past fall, I proposed a screening of Knock Down the House with producer Sarah Olson and congressional candidate Cori Bush and saw my idea develop into a public event. Most recently, I interviewed accomplished executive producer Marcy Carsey to discuss changes in the television industry and learn her perspective on female agency in the business today.
Moving forward, I intend to uplift these types of viewpoints and advocate for unique and nuanced storytelling in the current media landscape. By telling and re-telling histories of struggle and resiliency, I aim to join the millions of women contributing to this conversation so our collective voice drowns out the noise of those who doubt our capacities.
